RCSL now strongly represented in the
ISA
Executive Board
For the 2014-2018 term opened by the
Yokohama ISA World Conference,
two RCSL members are members of the ISA Executive Board:
Marina Kurkchiyan was elected as one of the eight RC representatives
on the Executive Committee, and Grazyna Skapska, as one of the
Representatives for National Associations.
Among other duties, Marina Kurkchiyan chairs the
RCSL
working group on comparative legal cultures;
Grazyna Skapska co-organized the
1999 RCSL Meeting,
which took place in Warsaw and Krakow.
Poland: A Sociologist of the Law
appointed as Secretary of State for Equal Treatment
Malgorzata Fuszara, a long time RCSL member
and co-organizer
of the
2012 RCSL Conference in Warsaw, is, since 1 August 2014,
Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary
for Equal Treatment in Poland.
This shows that RCSL members go into not only academic
but also non-academic fields
to make great contributions to our societies.
2015 RCSL Annual Conference
After the successful contribution of RCSL
to the Yokohama ISA World Conference,
with a substantial programme of 14 sessions
coordinated by Masayuki Murayama and Takayuki Ii,
it is time to start preparing the 2015 Conference
to take place in Canoas (Brasil).
